White Sands National Park & Saguaro National Park

In August 2018, my mom and I road-tripped from Texas to Utah and then back to Texas. This is part 1 in a two part series on that trip.

First stop was Eve’s Garden Bed and Breakfast in Marathon, Texas. We didn’t stay here, but I wanted to stop and take some pictures of the super colorful building.

We came across this rainbow as we left West Texas–I always appreciate a rainbow sighting 🙂

Our next destination was White Sands National Park! It was actually a national monument back then but has since been designated a National Park. I’ve been here a few times and highly recommend it for the unique landscape.

Next stop: Tucson! I really liked the desert vibes in Tucson and hope to explore there more in the future. While there, we went to the Saguaro National Park. We visited both the Eastern park and the Western park; however, I preferred the West park.

I consider myself somewhat of a bench connoisseur and really enjoyed the inscription on this one.

The West Park visitor center had a very sleek, Frank Lloyd Wright-esque style.

There were signs up warning about rattlesnakes, but we didn’t see any! I did spot a lizard friend.
