Mueller Lake Park (Mueller Park) is located in the “urban village” of Mueller in Austin, Texas that was formerly an airport and is now a live-work community full of young people and families. The park features a lake, fountains, picnic areas, and lots of ducks. Nearby are Thinkery, Alamo Drafthouse, and Bribery Bakery (which I recommend if you enjoy aesthetics or the color pink).
The ducks and geese weren’t very aggressive, even when dogs and kids ran up to them. I was impressed.
There were lots of people running on the trail, and most of it was shaded by trees so it would be a good place to exercise as well. Also, there were several families having a picnic, but the park wasn’t crowded at all. Food trucks serving empanadas, sandwiches, kabobs, vegetarian wraps, and other foods are parked right next to the park if you want to get a meal or snack.
